According to this Embassy’s regulations, student visa applicants are required to produce a certificate regarding a “blocked account” (Sperrkonto) with a bank in Germany. Student visa applicants are free in choice of the financial institution as long as the amount needed (at present: EUR 7,908.00) is blocked in an account registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. কেন জার্মান এমব্যাসিতে যেতে হবে?

1. In order to open such an account, it is necessary to contact the financial institution(এক্ষেত্রে, ব্যাংক!) of the student visa applicant’s choice. The financial institution will then provide the student visa applicant with an application form according to the data forwarded to it.
2. Typically, the financial institution will require positive identification of the account holder before opening it. Therefore, it is required to acquire an attestation of the student visa applicant’s signature on the account opening form.
3. The German Embassy in Dhaka can conduct such an attestation of a student visa applicant’s signature, given positive identification within the premises of the Embassy.

কখন এবং কী নিয়ে যাবো?

1. Student visa applicants may appear at the visa section of the German Embassy on every Thursday, except for the holidays of this Embassy, between 1.30 pm and 2.00 pm.
2. The student visa applicant must provide the Embassy with:-
   a, A filled-up blocked bank account application form (provided by the financial institution of choice),
   b, His / her passport and
   c, A legible photocopy of his / her passport.
3. In case all documents are complete and there is no doubt as to the intention of the applicant to open the account in question for the purpose of higher education in Germany, the attestation can be collected the Thursday after having handed in the documents (seven calendar days later) between 2.00 pm to 2.30 pm. Please note that attestations of signatures for student visa applicants opening a blocked account in Germany are free of cost. All students appearing on the above-mentioned day and time are admitted on that day, given that they submit all the documents mentioned above. Due to capacity constraints, exceptions are not admissible.
