Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship for postgraduate research

The Innovative Training Networks (ITN):

ITN aims to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early-stage researchers, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit.

ITN supports competitively selected joint research training and/or doctoral programs, implemented by partnerships of universities, research institutions, research infrastructures, businesses, SMEs, and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond.

Types of Research networks:

  1. European Training Networks: Researchers will work at least 3 different working environments (from inside and outside academia)
  2. European Industrial Doctorates: Ph.D. candidates will step outside academia and develop skills in industry and business
  3. European Joint Doctorates: promote international collaboration that cuts across different business and research sectors

Funding:

The salary is very generous compared to the standard Ph.D. positions

Eligibility:

  1. Academic criteria:

Applicants for Ph.D. programs must have completed a master’s degree or an equivalent

  • International criteria:

Applicants must not have had their main residence or carried out their main activity (work, studies…) in the host country for more than 12 months within the last three years
