এখন আসি visa interview এর কথায়। সব কিছু ভুলে গিয়ে শুধু confidence grow করতে থাকলাম। একটু টেনশন এ ছিলাম ielts score নিয়ে, পরে অবশ্য বাদ দিলাম যা হবে হোক, আল্লাহ্‌ ভরসা। আমার interview ছিল 8:30 তে। embassy তে গেলাম 8:00 তে। গিয়া দেখি একজন স্টুডেন্ট আর তিনটা full  family  দারায়ে আছে। 8:20 এ ভিতরে ঢুকাল এবং লিস্ট অনুযায়ী documents ready করে জমা দিলাম এক female stuff এর কাছে এবং wait করতে লাগলাম। family ভিসা interview গুলা একটু মজার হয়। বাচ্চাদের কাহিনী গুলা অনেক enjoy করতে পারবেন। মুসলিম হলে বিপদের দুয়া পরেন or আয়াতুল কুরছি পরেন । টেনশন একটুও করবেন না। কারন vo আপনাকে যাই জিজ্ঞাসা করবে তার সব কিছুই আপনি জানেন। এখন আমার conversation টা দিলামঃ

Vo : So Mr. Baig, what is your ssc passing year ?

Me : 2007 sir

Vo : and hsc 2009 right?

Me : yes sir.

Vo : what you did after your HSC? (as he knew that I am not from dhaka)

Me : After completing my HSC I came to Dhaka. As I always wanted to be an engineer, I took admission at AIUB in electrical & electronic engineering program.

Vo : (int.) in which year ?

Me : in 2010 sir.

Vo : ok. Continue …

Me : I completed my BSC in February, 2014. As my desire is to do masters in abroad, I prepared myself and started searching university. Few months later I gave my ielts exam. Then I prepared all my documents and started applying to the university. In the mean time I was working as an application specialist in a ERP software firm. As I worked there only for a few months so they were not willing to give me any experience certificate. That’s why I am not showing  any job experience certificate.

Vo : you studied electrical engineering. How you got a job in software firm?

Me : sir I love programming. I have some knowledge on programming. thats why ..

Vo : what language do you know?

Me : c, c++. I have done these basic courses in my bsc.

Vo : these are not an operational language.

Me : yes sir. I do know. Sir I completed a basic short course in my 5^th semester on oracle database programming. I also have some idea on sql database programming and crystal report.

Vo : oh o. whats the name of the software that you used ?

Me : DREAM APPS. SIR

Vo : tell me about your masters course module ?

Me : in my first semester I have to complete 6 subjects. X,x,x,x,x,x (tell the names).in my 2^nd semester I have to do another basic course named DSP then I have to take any 5 subjects as my major. I will surely take x,x,x (named 3 subjects) these subjects and in my last semester I have to do my thesis.

Vo : any particular reason to choose those subjects ?

Me : yes sir. My bsc thesis topic was “….”. so I have few more idea on this and It matches with my interest.

Vo : what you will do after completing your masters?

Me : if I will get any good opportunity I will do phd and at the same time I will try to find a good job to have some practical experience. With in a year or two I will come back to Bangladesh and join a good company.

Vo : in which city you are going to stay ?

Me : Kempten. Its in the southern most region of Germany under bevarian state.

Vo : (he was little bit bothered, I don’t know why ) told me to give finger print.

Me : did accordingly.

Vo : (still bothered) told me to put off my fingers.  Do you have any basic german language knowledge?

Me : No sir. (I was little bit afraid) my course is in 100% English. But sir I am learning vocabs. Like der vater, die mutter, der bruder, die schwester, null,eins,zwei,drei,vier,funf,danke,bitte,Montag,Dienstag … (everything that I know and I was thinking that its my last chance to convince him. So I was telling that came to my mouth)

Vo : smiling…. Ok. Mr. Baig I am facing some technical problems in my computer. Will you please wait outside for a few minutes. I will call you.

Me : sure sir.

After waiting few minutes he called me again. I gave my finger print and he gave me a paper and told me to deposit 25645/- at SCB. I deposited the amount and get back to the embassy and gave VO the slip. Then he told me that they will contact me as soon as the decision will make.

It seems that my interview was very lengthy but it only took 7-8 minutes. My strategy was to answer in detail so that he can understand that I have authority on my words and not to give him chances to ask so many questions. I was little bit worried about my ielts score but he asked me nothing about it. I can easily communicate with someone in English. So I was confident enough. This is the place where you can show your potentiality and show him how much English you know. Score doesn’t matter here.

Tips::

*আপনার কোর্স মডিউল সম্পর্কে ভাল করে জানুন। পারলে teacher দের নাম সহ। আমার সাথে একজন interview দিছে ওকে জিজ্ঞাসা করছিল কয়েকজন teachers এর নাম বল।

* আপনি যে শহরে যাচ্ছেন ওইখানের কোন special festival থাকলে তা সম্পর্কে জানুন এবং জার্মানি এর কিছু  main festival সম্পর্কে ও জানুন।

* আপনার course coordinator  এর নাম মনে রাখুন।

* university related যত email আদান প্রদান হয়েছে তার scan copy সাথে রাখুন।

* eye contact করুন আর পারলে smiley থাকার চেষ্টা করুন।

* যেহেতু জার্মানি এর সাথে ৯ টা দেশের বর্ডার রয়েছে , আপনার শহরটি কোন দেশের কাছে সেইটা মাথায় রাখুন।

VO রা খুব friendly so ভয় পাওয়ার কোন কারন ই নেই। আপনার মাথা ঠাণ্ডা রাখুন এবং সবার জন্য শুভকামনা।
